We will be offering Gazpacho as our second soup this month. Gazpacho is a Spanish tomato-based raw vegetable cold soup with chucks of tomato, celery, green peppers, & garlic in a puree of the ingredient.

Need Jeep Wranglers

On May 25th, Memorial Day Jeep Wrangles (without their tops) are needed to drive vets who cannot walk the parade route, but would like to participate in the parade. Jeeps need to be checked in between 9:30am and 10:00am at the American Legion Hall on Commerce Road. Please send an email (sandwiches_and_more@hotmail.com) or call (313-410-6850) so we know we will have enough Jeeps and don’t hesitate to call a friend and have them bring theirs as well.

May 16 - 10:00am Huron Valley Baseball & Softball Parade.

May 16 - 11:00am-1:00pm & 2:00pm-4:00pm The Milford Historical Society will be hosting a Spring Tea Fundraiser to benefit the Mary Jackson House and will be held at the childhood home of Mary Jackson. Guests can choose from two settings to attend, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. or 2 - 4 p.m. Each guest will enjoy savories and sandwiches, scones with lemon curd, jam or cream, assorted desserts and tea, coffee and punch. A vintage Fashion Show will take place during each tea along with entertainment from Waives of Harmony singing group. Tickets for the Spring Tea are $25 / person and can be purchased at The Acorn Farms (367 N. Main Street), Main Street Art (432 N. Main Street) or at the Milford Historical Society Museum (124 E. May 23 - Heavener’s Outdoor Rama at Power’s Beach in Proud Lake Recreation from Noon - 9:00pm with bonfire at 10:00pm.
Admission is FREE - Hot air balloon rides, horse rides, face painting, canoe & kayak rentals – vendors selling hot dogs, hamburgers, camping gear and other accessories.

May 25 - Memorial Day Parade at 11:00am

May 28 - Milford’s Farmer’s Market Grand Opening at 3:00pm
Join us as the Milford Farmers Market kicks off the season! We will be celebrating opening day as this summer attraction returns to the Huron Valley. Regular hours for the Market will be Thursdays from 3pm-8pm on E. Liberty (street closes to traffic by 2pm). See you there - shop hungry for the bounty of the season!

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday we will be open from 7:00am - 3:00pm

Thursday & Friday we will be open from 7:00am - 4:00pm

Saturday we will be open from 8:00am - 3:00pm

Sunday we will be open from 9:00am - 2:00pm

The bike rack has already been out and used, so signs of spring are definitely here.  Depending on weather you may find our Saturday and Sunday hours extended.  Always call and check before making the trip, once in a while Phil & I have plans and really close the place on time!.


Market Barometer

Our suppliers are saying the following –

Asparagus can be found locally.

Cucumbers & Green Peppers quality is hit or miss.

Wheat due to continued rain in N. Dakota planting is behind schedule.

Look for great local produce available soon – get yours at Milford’s Farmers Market starting May 28 3:00pm.

Perch prices and supply should be stable through summer.
